When i connect to my desktop, iTunes freezes. The second is, when i connect the iPod to my laptop it recognizes the iPod with no issues at all. Not sure if its an SDXC vs SDHC issue there but that is the first problem. I did however get it to work with a 32gb.
#IPOD IFLASH HOW TO#
I could not get a 64gb card to work even with the iFlash websites instructions on how to prepare it.
#IPOD IFLASH UPGRADE#
I did this upgrade with the quad as well. Wondering if anyone who did this can shed some light on the situation i am having. !!! I hadn't gone back to the 'guides' section in a while, thank you very much for mentioning this. The uSD board + 2,000 battery + a slim back is said to work, it's on the iFlash website under batteries guides. I had such a problem with the replacement parts that I'm trying to be as careful as I can with the set I managed to buy.

I really recommend, where possible, using original Apple parts if you can manage it. I went through three different LCD panels. Even the slightest jostling with normal use caused the LCD panel to shift slightly, which broke it. Also, I was using cheap Chinese replacement everything (front cover, back plate, LCD, battery) and I think it all just didn't sit properly. In my first build, the 2000 mAh battery fit with the mSata + 1st(?) Tarkan mSata board + thick back but I think the battery expanded a bit after use and pushed on the LCD screen from behind. I use the thermal pads in my current build to take up space between the mSata drive and the inside of the back plate, since the battery goes above the mSata board and not behind it. I think I didn't make myself clear in that last comment, sorry. I'm not sure if you can put the thermal pads with the 2000 battery and thick back. I bought that one when it first came out (pre-ordered it, actually) I used the first mSata board released by Tarkan, I'm not sure if he's updated them since then. Which mSATA board did you use before when you broke the screen? Because being able to simply pull up exactly what you want no matter what is very valuable to those of us who have been curating digital music collections since the Napster days. Well, because you never know what's going to happen to your hard drives. One more question: how much did the microSD cards set you back, and is there a reason you chose that one specifically? AFAIK speed doesn't particularly matter, is that correct?įor those of you who wonder, isn't this too much? Why have all your music on an iPod? Will probably take the plunge and do the same thing you've got here, if it seems worth it.Īlso, are you using RockBox or 'nilla iTunes? I never really liked RockBox but I might have to suck it up once I get my 600GB of music tamed, tags wise. Looking for iPods or repair parts? Go check out Elite Obsolete Electronics!Ĭan you give me some information about which battery you're using and how long it lasts? I just installed an mSata SSD and the battery life isn't good enough, unfortunately, because the power management isn't designed for it.
